Pendulums
-
Q: What is a pendulum?
A: Pendulums are divination tools made out of a weighted object. More often than not, pointed. They work by moving with your subtle micromovements and your energy field. Swinging in different directions to answer questions or help you attune to your intuition and innate inner knowing. Each pendulum's material aids its use with its own unique energy signature. We create each pendulum with intention and care, honouring its energetic properties.
-
Q: Can anyone use one?
A: Yes! Absolutely! Pendulums are great tools for everyday use or divinatory purposes and quite simple to operate. They make for incredible decision makers when you feel stuck between options, or just as easily to divine what your true feeling is when used in conversation. Pendulums are sacred, intentional tools to be used to find that in which you seek. It makes for a great introductory tool to divination.

Q: How do I care for my pendulum and cleanse it?
A: Pendulum care is essential for your sacred tools! The best way to care for them is to keep it in a safe spot, either hung or in a velvet bag are both great options! As for cleansing, placing it beside selenite or washing it in incense smoke with intention is recommended. Leaving them in moonlight is also an effective method.
-
Q: How do I know if my pendulum is working?
A: Take a moment to steady yourself and ground. When you feel still, while holding your pendulum ask out loud or in your head for your pendulum to show you "yes" and "no" and wait for movement. Each pendulum has a different yes and no. When you learn its rhythm you will know when it works. Some circle, some still, some swing strongly and some slowly. Ask your question, wait for a response and it will show you its answer.

Q: Is tarot complicated to use and learn?
A: That depends! Tarot is a 78 card system in traditional Rider-Waite based decks. It can be a bit overwhelming to learn all of the cards but if you understand the structure, learning each card follows. It's simple once you understand the suits, the numerology system, the court cards and the story! Check out our tarot blog for some helpful guides to get started!

Q: I'm new to tarot, Do I need to be gifted my first deck?
A: There is a myth that you must be gifted your first deck. This started as an initiation of practice by a mentor or family member and a way to pass magic from ancestors. Not everyone has a mentor or familial link and that's okay. Tarot is widely accessible and you don't need to wait for permission. Find a deck that you feel drawn to and dedicate yourself to learning it. Whether it's gifted or purchased, what matters is the connection you build with it.
